June showed us, Love!

I am still overwhelmed with emotion by all the love that the FCSA received during the month of June. The month commenced with the Ariagna Perrelo Civic association presenting me with a Woman of Distinction award on June 3rd. In my 25 years of serving multiple communities, this is the first public recognition I have received and my heart is still overjoyed by it! I received an honor for trailblazing the fibromyalgia community!! This is for my 5-year-old granddaughter, Audrey. I hope one day it reminds her that there is power in persevering!

On June 4th, the FCSA outreach team joined several community organizations in the City of Newark at the Miller Street health fair. The team walked away with a wealth of information and resources for the fibromyalgia community. Then on June 11th, we participated in Montlclair's inaugural pride event. At the event, we connected with so many beautiful people, many of whom signed up for our mailing list in order to learn more about the life-changing work we are doing. We also attended the Health is Wealth Fair at Barry Commodore Park in NYC. Once again, we made some great connections, which included meeting an Assembly Woman and Senator interested in learning more about the wonderful work we are embarking on. We are excited to tell them more.

We closed out the month by reciprocating the love shared with us. The FCSA team and Virtual COE participants attended our first in-person summer Friday event. On June 29th, we spent the morning sharing personal stories of determination & hope. The common theme was when you feel like your world is falling apart, it might very well be falling into place-Trust the process! We then painted positive affirmations on river rocks and decided to share love, light, and energy by scattering the affirmation rocks throughout the park. We hope they brought a smile to someone else's life. I can't wait to tell you all more about summer Fridays in upcoming updates.
