2022 World Health Day

Happy World Health Day!

The Fibromyalgia Care Society of America, Inc has some exciting news to share!  The Health Care Foundation of New Jersey awarded us a $25,000 grant for our virtual coordinated care program! This is the first competitive grant that we have received.  We are honored and eager to bring on the next cohort that will consist of 12 participants from Essex County, New Jersey.  The program is slated to begin on April 15th, 2022 and we still have two slots available, so please share our application with anyone you know who can benefit from our assistance.

I am also excited to report that we are seeing progress within the 1st cohort of participants. Some have reported a decrease in pain levels, others have reported feeling supported and one has requested that we continue to hold them accountable for using the modalities learned in the program! I am motivated by the progress and changes we've made along the way to design an even stronger model going into this next cohort.  However, I have to be honest and share that at times I find myself struggling to sleep at night.  It is no longer the fibromyalgia that keeps me up at night, it is the fear of not knowing where the funding will come from to sustain the program.  This model is not expensive but it costs a lot more than 25k. This is where you can help.

As we approach fibromyalgia awareness month, you can participate in our annual event-Caterpillar Walk. This can be done in person or virtually.  If you are local to NY, NJ, or Puerto Rico, I implore you to come out and invite all the people within your family and circles. This can help us with fundraising, it makes fibromyalgia visible and shows a united front-numbers matter to all who have the power to enact change. I also guarantee that you will have a great time!  Some of the activities planned are Zumba, Yoga, Arts and Crafts for the kids, Raffle Prizes, Music, and more.  Join Today! and/or Volunteer to help at one of the events.

We also have some exciting chats/webinars coming up in April, so please make sure to follow us on Social Media to stay updated and save the following dates:
