Strategic Vision

FCSA Strategic Vision

The strategic vision for the Fibromyalgia Care Society of America is influenced by the understanding that a) fibromyalgia education within the medical community is inconsistent and largely uninformed b) individuals living with fibromyalgia have limited amount of medical services to access that is greatly influenced by their ability to afford for non-traditional holistic care and c) support groups and services available to the community are minimally effective and do not truly offer the individual living with fibromyalgia a tangible resource or continuum of care. As such, the strategic visions presented below as a plan of work addresses these core areas through a myriad of support services with varying goals and objectives.

Program Area Objectives
Centers of Excellence To develop standards of care and best practicies for fibromyalgia treatment
To offer coordinated care and professional resources for medical providers
To offer multidiciplinary care, diagnostic and treatment at one location
To offer equality in care (including free consultation and managed care plans)
To offer access to dedicated research and medical trials
FibroCares To offer comprehensive and wraparound care for those living with fibromyalgia
To offer support services in the areas of job placement, emegency assistance funds, legal services, workplace support, home health care, in-home support (groceries, childcare, etc), respite care

Empowerment Groups To offer redesigned support groups that focus on tangible steps to address issues
